What's for Dinner This Week?
I like to plan out our meals for the week. I have tried doing it for the month, but that is too far ahead for me. I especially like to plan our meals around the veggies we will be receiving from our veggie/fruit delivery service: Green Bean Delivery. If you live in Greater Louisville, KY, Cincinnati, OH, Dayton, OH, Columbus, OH, Indianapolis, IN, or Fort Wayne, IN- then they deliver in your area! You should check them out!
Anyways...I usually plan meals/cut coupons on Friday/Saturday then grocery shop on Sunday. New deals/sales each week start on Mondays, so while this is not an ideal schedule- it is what works for our family. I find that sticking to my grocery list for my dinners that week drastically cuts my grocery bill. Plus I get my produce delivered from Green Bean and get my diapers delivered from diapers.com.
I have been getting inquiries about what we eat for dinner each night- so here you go! I will attempt to do this for each week...and actually post it before the week begins.
Here is our line up for this week!
Monday: Leftover night!
(There really is no reason to make new food when there are perfectly good leftovers in the fridge!)
Tuesday: Pizza
We love to make our own with meats and veggies and use organic dough from Lotsa Pasta in Louisville, KY, which we get delivered in our bin from Green Bean (Yes, you can get meat, dairy, and grocery products delivered too! Can you tell I love them?!)
Wednesday: Chicken Tortilla Soup
You can get the recipe HERE from an earlier blog post.
Thursday: Sausage/Green Beans/Potatoes
It is exactly what the title states. Sausage (I like to use chicken sausage) a can of green beans (don't drain), and cut up potatoes (I even leave the skin on). Season with salt and pepper and put in the crock pot on low all day. Nothing fancy, but very easy and good! Side note: I tried it with fresh green beans and I must say canned green beans work best!
Friday-Saturday: Let's be honest...we usually get take out or grab something quick like grilled cheese, spaghetti, or soup...
Sunday: Let's be honest again...Sunday is family day. I usually count on dinner at my Grandma's where one of my awesome aunts or uncles (or my parents) cook a fabulous meal or I head to my parents for dinner!
